The 6th Social Ethics Society Conference held last October 27-28, 2016 at Secdea Resort, Samal Island, has been successfully concluded. The annual event, with the theme "Technology, Education, and Governance: Prospects and Perspectives," was attended by philosophy professors and teachers from 25 higher learning institutions in the country. Fr. Urbano Pardillo Jr. of the host St. Francis Xavier College Seminary welcomed the delegates while Fr. Dexter Veloso of the SES gave an inspirational message. The plenary lectures were delivered by Dr. Orlando Ali Mandane, Jr. of the University of San Carlos, A/Prof. Christopher Ryan Maboloc of the Ateneo de Davao University, and Dr. Ferdinand Mangibin of Silliman University. Envisioned to be the bastion of moral integrity both in the academe and the global community, the Social Ethics Society is the first professional organization of Philosophy teachers, researchers, and graduate students based in the Southern Region of the Philippines. Deeply rooted in the passion for truth and social action, the SES seeks to develop the scholarly output of its members and advance useful knowledge for the betterment of Philippine society and beyond.
