Gerry Arambala, LSU-Ozamiz Philosophy Chair, is Speaker at Peace Forum

Mr. Gerry Arambala, the Chair of the Philosophy Department at LSU-Ozamiz, was the speaker in the Peace Forum held at La Salle University Ozamiz, in commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution. The event, with the theme "Peace is always Possible," was held last February 28, 2020. Mr. Arambala is also busy preparing for the forthcoming 3rd Philippine Politics and Culture Conference which will be held at LSU this coming April 22, 2020. The speakers include Dr. Ruby Suazo of the University of San Carlos, Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc of Ateneo de Davao University, and Dr. Rogelio Bayod of Cor Jesu College.

Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc delivers lecture on the ethics of technology at the first N-CASE hosted by CTU

Dr. Christopher Ryan B. Maboloc discussed some of the seminal concepts in the ethics of technology at the first National Conference for the Arts, Sciences, and Education (N-CASE) which was hosted by the Cebu Technological University at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City, February 19-21, 2020. The event was attended by some 200 delegates and was graced by Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, CHED regional director and Dr. Rosein Ancheta Jr., CTU president. The other plenary speakers include Dr. Aurelio Vilvar of UP Cebu, Dr. Michael Furmanovsky of Ryukoku University, Dr. Steven Gershon of Oberlin University, and Dr. Filipina Sotto, a marine biologist. Dr. Maboloc, who was introduced by Prof. Ryan C. Urbano of CTU, also shared his experiences as a researcher, having published several papers on the topic, and mentioned that research is not just about individual achievement, but also involves a moral obligation to society, especially in helping shape or influence government policy.
