Fr. Dexter Veloso to deliver Closing Message in final event of the 2021 SES Webinar Series

 

Fr. Dexter Veloso, president of the Social Ethics Society, will formally give the Closing Message for the 2021 SES Webinar Series this July 6, 2021. The fourth leg is the final event for the year. According to Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc, program chairman, the endeavor has brought together international and local scholars to discuss important topics in social philosophy and political ethics.

The global scholars who took part as speakers include Dr. Juichiro Tanabe of Kumamoto University, Dr. John Weckert of Charles Sturt University, Dr. Layne Hartsell of Chulalongkorn University and Ms. Asuna Yoshizawa of Kyoto University. Dr. Daniel Mishori of Tel Aviv University will headline the last virtual event. Dr. Randy Tudy and Dr. Roger Bayod have acted as hosts for the series. 

The SES has partnered with Cor Jesu College, Notre Dame of Marbel University, and La Salle University Ozamiz in the webinar series that has attracted hundreds of attendees, students and teachers alike, from all over the country. The program is part of the vision of Fr. Veloso to internationalize the SES by bringing in topnotch professors in an effort to enhance philosophical reflection in the region.

Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum

The Social Ethics Society, in cooperation with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Philosophy Department of Mindanao State University - Main, and North Valley College, invite you to a public forum, Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum, this coming May 20, 2026, (Wednesday) from 1PM to 6PM via ZOOM.  This activity intends to gather the voices and ideas from Mindanao and others - the Jesuit and Catholic identity of education, the perspectives of Muslim Filipinos, Lumads, professors and young teachers, including those teaching basic education and the vantage points of college students.
