SES joins USERN Congress, CRB Maboloc is Plenary Speaker

Dr. Ian Clark Parcon leads other members of the Social Ethics Society in joining the 7th Universal Science Education Research Network (USERN) Hybrid Conference that will start today, November 8 until November 12, 2022. 

The participants from the SES are Dr. Parcon (AdDU), Dr. Rogelio Bayod (CJC)  Mr. Gerry Arambala (MSU Gen-San), Mr. Menelito Mansueto (MSU-IIT), and Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc (AdDU). USERN extended the invitation to the aforementioned.

Dr. Maboloc, a member of USERN, is one of the speakers in the annual event. His paper is "The role of indigenous wisdom in scientific revolutions." The researcher argues that science belongs to every culture through the perspective of traditional knowledge.

The USERN Congress includes talks by Nobel laureates and the top 1% scientists across the globe in the field of chemistry, medicine, physics, and the social sciences. USERN was founded by Dr. Nima Rezaei, a top research scientist and immunologist from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum

The Social Ethics Society, in cooperation with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Philosophy Department of Mindanao State University - Main, and North Valley College, invite you to a public forum, Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum, this coming May 20, 2026, (Wednesday) from 1PM to 6PM via ZOOM.  This activity intends to gather the voices and ideas from Mindanao and others - the Jesuit and Catholic identity of education, the perspectives of Muslim Filipinos, Lumads, professors and young teachers, including those teaching basic education and the vantage points of college students.
