INTERNATIONAL ETHICS CONFERENCE AT WASEDA UNIVERSITY

 


Press Release - “Harmonizing the Ethics of Global Justice & Peacebuilding: Towards a Sustainable Planetary Future” is an International Ethics Conference that will be held at the Center for International Education, Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan on September 5 and 6, 2025.

The conference is co-organized by the Social Ethics Society and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Center for Philosophy and the Humanities. The organizers are inviting academics, scholars, and graduate students to join the conference. 

The conference topics include Global Justice, Peace & Conflict Studies, Philippine Politics & Democracy, Artificial Intelligence, Education, Sustainable Development, & Climate Change. Submitted abstracts should not be more than 300 words. 


"This is in line with our efforts to expand the horizon of local researchers and bring them to an international platform where they can share their research," says Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc, SES BOD Chair. Dr. Juichiro Tanabe is the head of the conference  

Interested parties can send an abstract to the Scientific Committee. E-mail Prof. Menelito Mansueto at migs_mansueto@yahoo.com on or before June 30. The event is in-person. All participants are to pay for their travel and accommodation. All participants who are not affiliated with the SES and PUP are required to pay a $100 registration fee.

Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum

The Social Ethics Society, in cooperation with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Philosophy Department of Mindanao State University - Main, and North Valley College, invite you to a public forum, Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum, this coming May 20, 2026, (Wednesday) from 1PM to 6PM via ZOOM.  This activity intends to gather the voices and ideas from Mindanao and others - the Jesuit and Catholic identity of education, the perspectives of Muslim Filipinos, Lumads, professors and young teachers, including those teaching basic education and the vantage points of college students.
