Fr. Urbano Pardillo Jr., Ph.L, the Academic Dean of the St. Francis Xavier College Seminary in Davao City, has been chosen by the Board of Directors of the Social Ethics Society as Editor of the Social Ethics Society Journal of Applied Philosophy for a three-year term beginning in June 2015 until June 2018. A/Prof. Christopher Ryan Maboloc will be the associate editor while Mr. Peter Paul Elicor will act as managing editor. The editorial consultants of the journal include Dr. Jeffry Ocay of Silliman University, Dr. Ruby Suazo of the University of San Carlos, Dr. Jane Gallamaso of Xavier University, Dr. Ryan Urbano of the University of San Carlos, Dr. Raymond Pavo of the University of the Philippines in Mindanao, Dr. Orlando Ali Mandane Jr. of the University of San Carlos, Dr. Japhet Bakuwa of the University of Malawi, Dr. Godiva Eviota of Mindanao State University, Prof. Ian Clark Parcon of Ateneo de Davao University, and Dr. Christopher Agulanna of the University of Ibadan.
Professor Thomas Pogge of Yale University will be the mentor of Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc in the ASAP Global Justice Program Fellowship at Yale University. Prof. Pogge is the author of World Poverty and Human Rights. Dr. Maboloc will write his research on structural issues in Muslim Mindanao using the perspectives of Iris Marion Young and Thomas Pogge. ASAP is an acronym for Academics Stand Against Poverty. According to its website, it utilizes "scholarship to influence policy and public attitudes to poverty. Established in 2010, (ASAP) is a non-partisan, independent global organization aiming to eradicate severe poverty worldwide." It is based in New Haven, Connecticut. It is under the Global Justice Program at Yale. Fourteen scholars around the world were chosen for the ASAP Program. Pogge is the most prominent scholar on global justice.
