SES signs MOU with ICRES 2022 Organizers

  The Social Ethics Society will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the organizers of the International Conference on Research in the Educational Sciences (ICRES 2022), this was revealed by Prof. Cathy Mae Toquero, chair of the conference, which will be held from May 29-31. Fr Dexter Veloso, president of the SES, will represent the organization. Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc is one of the invited plenary speakers. He will talk about "Strategy, Competency, and Institutional Reforms in Education in the New Normal." Speakers from New Zealand, Canada, and the US, will deliver talks in the conference. The event will be hosted by the Mindanao State University in General Santos City. 

Remembering the Contributions of Dr. Eddie Babor

The late Dr  Eddie Babor, dean and professor at Holy Name University, research director and author of many textbooks, was one of the finest scholars to come from the Visayas region. He was twice president of the Philosophical Association of the Visayas and Mindanao (PHAVISMINDA), in whose time the regional organization of philosophy teachers can be characterized by a sense of camaraderie and a spirit of pure friendship, without sacrificing philosophical rigor. Founded at USC by its pioneering scholars, the organization has remained true to its mission to this day.  Dr. Babor was under the tutelage of the great Fr. Heinz Kulueke, in whose stead came the best scholars from USC. Dr. Babor wrote books in ethics, the philosophy of the human person, and logic, including many articles. He was a very humble man who helped the likes of textbook authors such as Professor Ambong Fernandez of Ateneo. Dr. Babor was editor of Lumina, the official journal of HNU.
