Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc will present his lecture, "The radicalization of politics in the Philippines" in the Graduate School Conference of the Department of Philosophy of the University of Santo Tomas, 28 April 2021. The theme of the virtual event is Christianity and the Philippine Intellectual Landscape. The paper looks into the roots of antagonism and conflict in Philippine colonial history. It is also an attempt to convey the message that Karl Gaspar's work is a radical response to the exclusion of the Lumads. The study juxtaposes the politics of President Duterte and the theology of struggle of the eminent anthropologist from Mindanao.
