SES Board concludes Planning Session

The Social Ethics Society has concluded its Strategic Planning Session held at Club Samal Resort, 26-27 March 2021. The organization will draft a revised Vision and Mission to expand the reach of the SES. It will also seek to adopt development theory as part of the scope of the group's mission. This is in line with the paradigm of thinking toward the future while deepening the ethical approach to development. The Board has approved the new editorial policies of the SES Journal as presented by Dr. Roger Bayod and Dr. Randy Tudy. Other plans include international engagements, the holding of SES caravans, and promoting philosophical research through future webinars. A book on Covid-19 Philosophical Research has also been proposed. 

Meanwhile, the SES Journal will host a hybrid writing workshop for philosophy and social science, The Journal will also co-host a webinar writeshop on gender. The Board has also decided to hold a second Hybrid Conference in October 2021. Due to the uncertainty of travel, the Board has also decided to postpone its 10th Anniversary & First International Conference to 2022. Dr. Moises Torrentira Jr., will initiate a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Southeastern Philippines for the co-hosting of two forthcoming SES events this year. Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc, Fr. Dexter Veloso, and Fr. Urbano Pardillo Jr., have reiterated the important role of the organization and its identity during the course of the planning exercise.

Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum

The Social Ethics Society, in cooperation with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Philosophy Department of Mindanao State University - Main, and North Valley College, invite you to a public forum, Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum, this coming May 20, 2026, (Wednesday) from 1PM to 6PM via ZOOM.  This activity intends to gather the voices and ideas from Mindanao and others - the Jesuit and Catholic identity of education, the perspectives of Muslim Filipinos, Lumads, professors and young teachers, including those teaching basic education and the vantage points of college students.
