SES holds successful 12th Annual Conference (Virtual)

The Social Ethics Society has concluded its 12th Annual Conference which was held virtually, October 29-30, 2021. Dr. Darryl Macer, the Keynote Speaker, provided the context with which human society can proceed by means of ethics and human rights in the post-pandemic world. Mr. Anton Heinrich Rennesland, the Plenary Speaker for the Philosophy section, shared his reflections on how human society must be designed using a critical vantage point against the forces of globalization. Dr. Julio Teehankee, the Plenary Speaker for the Politics section, explained the nature of Philippine politics, and the theoretical underpinnings on the power of the Presidential system of government and how it impacts the lives of the people.

The following presented their research papers in the virtual event: Bernard Caslib Jr. (UP), Alvin Tan (UST), Oliver Perater (MSU-IIT), Albert Garcia (NVSU), Bryan Paul Tumlad & Eileen Marie Palmejar (CPU), Glenford Franca (SPAMAST), Alexis Itao (CNU), Dr. Victor Aguilan (Silliman), Mar Louie Reyes (USC), Dr. Roberto Roldan Jr. (Abra State), Concepcion Regalado (UST), Dr. Sherlito Sable (USEP), Marvin Einstein Mejaro (UST), Menelito Mansueto Jr. (MSU-IIT), Dr. Joezenon Purog (EVSU), and Dr. Rhochie Matienzo (UST).

Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc opened the Conference with a short talk on Transdisciplinarity. The conference was held in partnership with Cor Jesu College. Dr. Roger Bayod (CJC) and Prof. Ian Clark Parcon (ADDU) hosted the two day event. Dr. Moises Torrentira formally closed the Conference. The Organizing Committee was headed by Dr. Maboloc as lead convenor. The members include Dr. Bayod, Dr. Randy Tudy, Dr. Torrentira, Prof. Parcon, Prof. Mansueto, Fr. Banny Pardillo, and Mr. Gerry Arambala. Fr. Dexter Veloso, president of the SES and head of Finance, expressed his gratitude to all speakers and participants.
