The Future in the Writings of a Moral Philosopher released

The book The Future in the Writings of a Moral Philosopher has just been released and is now available as a paperback via Amazon. It is a collection of the writings of the late Dr. Romulo Bautista. Migs Mansueto and Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc are co-editors. The back cover reads:

The purpose of this book is two-fold. First, it is a fitting tribute to the contributions of Dr. Romulo Bautista to moral philosophizing. It is meant to document his thoughts, dreams, and hopes. The argument is that, in a democracy, Dr. Bautista strongly believes, it is the people that matters. The kind of society that we have reflects who we are as a people. Are there new solutions? The main problem in our country is corruption. It is for this reason that we need to understand the secular nature of our society. Dr. Bautista’s work helps us analyze the root causes and the ethical framework necessary in order to realize the institutional goals that can make Philippine society truly democratic. This will depend on the moral empowerment of the ordinary Filipino, in what the late professor calls “Bayanikrasya.” A government that is corrupt and inefficient can breed all kinds of injustice. The problem is structural. Institutional contexts are relevant, as well as the empowerment of the masses or grassroots communities.
