Five environmental ethics students from the Ateneo de Davao University, who are taking their master's in philosophy, attended the recently concluded 8th Social Ethics Society Conference held at Punta Isla Resort, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.
Karl Gaspar, during his keynote talk, "The Quest for a Mindanawon Indigenous Philosophy," has challenged the young philosophy scholars in attendance to reflect on the culture, identity, and way of life of indigenous communities in Mindanao.
With the pursuit of further knowledge in mind, the master's students who attended the event were Rogelio Bayod (Cor Jesu), Hilbert Narciso (UM Tagum), Ruben Davan (Gov. Generoso College of Arts), Bryan Tumlad (Ateneo de Davao University), and Fr. Ronelo Bentayao (QACS).
