CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION

Theme: “Environmental Philosophy, Climate Justice and Global Sustainability.”

The Keynote Speaker for this year’s conference is Dr. Daniel Mishori, senior lecturer at the Department of Exact Sciences, Tel Aviv University, Israel.

For purposes of consideration of papers for presentation, please submit through email an abstract of not more than 300 words to Dr. Rogelio Bayod at roger.bayod@gmail.com. Attach a separate title page that includes the paper’s title, the author’s name, institutional affiliation, and email address.  All abstracts will be reviewed by a scientific committee. The notification of acceptance will be sent via email. Full papers should not exceed 4,000 words.

Inspired by the moral challenges brought about by environmental problems that threaten human existence and our way of life, this conference intends to deepen discussions and substantiate our moral positions on a host of environmental issues. The context is both local and global in scope. Papers may discuss environmental philosophy and ethics, climate justice and global ethics, human development, democracy and globalization, religious pluralism and culture, poverty and global justice, and peace building.

The 9th Social Ethics Society Annual Conference seeks to promote ethical thinking and morally reflect on environmental issues related to climate change and global sustainability, including but not limited to the problems pertaining to democracy and human development.  Lectures will be delivered by the invited plenary speakers and experts. The conference is a venue for philosophy teachers, researchers, graduate students, and scholars to be able to share their researches in one healthy exchange of ideas.

The registration fee for the SES Conference is 5,500 pesos, covering access to all sessions, five meals, coffee breaks, lodging, membership fee, the issue of the Social Ethics Society Journal of Applied Philosophy, and conference materials. Live out participants may avail of a discount. You can also avail of a 10% discount if you will register on or before September 15, 2019.
