Young Bohol scholar to release first book, Decolonial Turn in the Philippine South

Mr. Menelito Mansueto, a young scholar from Bohol who is teaching Philosophy at the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology, will soon release his first book entitled Decolonial Turn in the Philippine South.

The book will showcase the postmodern and radical approach to philosophy that has defined Philippine Studies recently, using the vantage point of such scholars as Enrique Dussel and Karl Gaspar. Mansueto has published important papers on the subject.

This monograph is part of the Social Ethics Society Book Publishing Project. This new copyrighted material will be released internationally under KDP Amazon Publishing in the United States and will be available worldwide.

Mr. Mansueto is taking PhD studies under Dr. Darryl Macer of the American University of Sovereign Nations. He has taught at Colegio de San Juan de Letran, FEU Diliman, the University of Santo Tomas, and BISU in Tagbilaran City.

Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum

The Social Ethics Society, in cooperation with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Philosophy Department of Mindanao State University - Main, and North Valley College, invite you to a public forum, Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum, this coming May 20, 2026, (Wednesday) from 1PM to 6PM via ZOOM.
