Fr. Dexter Veloso, president of the Social Ethics Society, will sponsor the Book Launching of Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc's Radical Democracy in the Time of Duterte this coming July 23, 2022, 9AM at Balai Torrentira Cafe in Los Amigos, Davao City.

Meanwhile, Dr. Maboloc met with Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte last July 13 at Davao City Hall. The author presented a copy of the book to the local chief executive. He was accompanied by his wife Ms. Marietta Maboloc and top caterer Raymond Zapanta. Dr. Maboloc and the Mayor talked about the legacy of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Thomas Pogge to mentor AdDU prof in ASAP Global Justice Fellowship at Yale

Professor Thomas Pogge of Yale University will be the mentor of Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc in the ASAP Global Justice Program Fellowship at Yale University. Prof. Pogge is the author of World Poverty and Human Rights. Dr. Maboloc will write his research on structural issues in Muslim Mindanao using the perspectives of Iris Marion Young and Thomas Pogge. ASAP is an acronym for Academics Stand Against Poverty. According to its website, it utilizes "scholarship to influence policy and public attitudes to poverty. Established in 2010, (ASAP) is a non-partisan, independent global organization aiming to eradicate severe poverty worldwide." It is based in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc of the Philosophy Department of Ateneo de Davao University has published his 90th philosophy paper. He co-authored an article entitled "An Ethics of Justice for the Elderly: Ageism and the Covid-19 Pandemic" with Dr. Anesito Cutillas of Cebu Technological University. The study was published in Community Health Equity Research and Policy, a Sage journal indexed by Clarivate Analytics and Scopus. He has published papers under Springer, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Philosophy Documentation Center, and Sage.
