Ateneo awards Publication Incentive to Radical Democracy in the Time of Duterte

Ateneo de Davao University has awarded a publication incentive to Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc for his book Radical Democracy in the Time of Duterte. The book was published in 2022 under Elzystyle Publishing through Dr. Mansoor Limba. The information was relayed to the author by Dr. Lourdesita Chan, chairperson of the University Research Council.  The book has ten chapters that provides a clinical assessment and a post-modern theoretical analysis of the presidency of Rodrigo Duterte using the perspective of Chantal Mouffe. The book is an offshoot of the research of the Davao-based scholar which was also funded by the university and presented at Nagoya University in 2017. Dr. Wataru Kusaka wrote the Foreword of the book.

43. Maricar Juaneza is an associate professor at the University of Southern Mindanao in Kabacan, North Cotabato. She holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of the Philippines in Diliman and a masters degree in Philosophy from Ateneo de Davao University. Her interests are philosophy of language and post-modern philosophy. She also coaches the college girls basketball team.  44. Randy Ponteras graduated at the Saint Francis Xavier College Seminary. An outstanding public servant, he taught at the University of Mindanao and at Ateneo de Davao University. Living what he teaches his students, he is active in the advocacy for workers' rights and good governance. He is also a political consultant of various cause oriented groups in Davao City.  45. Bernard Escarza is part of the group of young academics who learned the tenets of Marxism from Dr. Bautista while studying for his masters at Ateneo de Davao University. He teaches ethics and philosophy at the University

Philosophers from the South (Part 5)

30. Dr. Arnel Morte teaches at the Central Mindanao University in Musuan, Bukidnon. He is a regular fixture in both local and national conferences. He writes on Philippine politics and how it juxtaposes with different theories, including deliberative democracy and ethical governance. He took his masters at Ateneo de Davao University. 31. Christian Inovejas is one of the young guns during the time of Dr. Romulo Bautista at Ateneo de Davao University. He serves as chairman of the Philosophy Department of Bukidnon State University. His work is influenced by his existentialist stance on vital issues and questions. He is one of the pioneers of a newly formed philosophical society based in Bukidnon.  32. Givheart Dano is a glimmer of hope when it comes to scholarship in Mindanao. Young and bright, he has published several papers on education, democracy and ethics. His most important work was his attempt to bring together into discussion the discordant discourse on radical democracy in the co
