Philosophers from the South (Part 5)

30. Dr. Arnel Morte teaches at the Central Mindanao University in Musuan, Bukidnon. He is a regular fixture in both local and national conferences. He writes on Philippine politics and how it juxtaposes with different theories, including deliberative democracy and ethical governance. He took his masters at Ateneo de Davao University.

31. Christian Inovejas is one of the young guns during the time of Dr. Romulo Bautista at Ateneo de Davao University. He serves as chairman of the Philosophy Department of Bukidnon State University. His work is influenced by his existentialist stance on vital issues and questions. He is one of the pioneers of a newly formed philosophical society based in Bukidnon. 

32. Givheart Dano is a glimmer of hope when it comes to scholarship in Mindanao. Young and bright, he has published several papers on education, democracy and ethics. His most important work was his attempt to bring together into discussion the discordant discourse on radical democracy in the country, providing a nuanced and unbiased perspective to the provocative question that was first thrown by Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc.

33. Dr. Juvy Reyes is dean at the Notre Dame of Marbel University. She finished her Dissertation at the University of San Carlos under the tutelage of Msgr. and now Bishop Dennis Villarojo. Dr. Reyes wrote on Hans Georg Gadamer and hermeneutics. She also studied educational leadership in Australia and has delivered important papers on environmental ethics in local and national conferences.

34. Dr. Robert Panaguiton teaches at the Western Mindanao State University. He has a degree in anthropology from Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro. He also has a masters in philosophy from Ateneo de Manila University. He is currently working on peace studies and its relationship to the Bangsamoro question of autonomy. He previously taught at Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

35. Bogs Nartatez is one of the most profound philosophy teachers a student can meet in college. A pastor and a passionate public speaker, he ventures into difficult questions about God, science and religion. He is a constant and a passionate contributor to the programs and events of Ateneo de Davao University's philosophy department as speaker and reactor. He is writing a Dissertation for his doctorate at Ateneo de Manila University.

36. Oliver Perater also belongs to the young guns of the by-gone era of the late Romulo Bautista, having studied for his masters at Ateneo de Davao University. Prof. Perater wrote and delivered papers on Philippine politics and local culture. He studied at the University of the Philippines for his doctorate. He teaches at the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology. He previously taught at the University of Mindanao.

37. Khalid Datumanong Rinamontao, together with Givheart Dano, is proof of the bright future for Philosophy in the Northern region of Mindanao. The young academic teaches philosophy at Mindanao State University in Marawi City. He has presented papers in the SES Conference and others. He is doing his graduate degree at the University of San Carlos in Cebu City.

38. Joefer Maninang teaches at Bukidnon State University. He is writing a Dissertation on human rights for his doctorate at the University of Philippines. He previously taught at Ateneo de Davao University. Prof. Maninang has presented papers in local and national conferences, including the PAP Annual Conference. He is one of the pioneers of Bukidnon's philosophical association and the Social Ethics Society in Davao City.

39. Redentor dela Rosa teaches at the Central Mindanao University. He is doing his PhD at Ateneo de Manila University. He finished his masters at Ateneo de Davao University. He has presented papers in local and national conferences. He has published a thought-provoking paper on physics, offering a novel formula. Prof. Dela Rosa is an author who has published ethics and logic books for college students used in several schools.

40. Marcos Monderin is dean at the University of Southern Mindanao. He is a leader by heart. He studied at the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Davao University, and the University of San Carlos. He also studied educational leadership in Australia. He is a pioneer of the Social Ethics Society and has hosted the 4th edition of its annual conference. He is writing on John Dewey's Philosophy of Education for his dissertation.

41. Atty. Edwin Matura is a lawyer, public servant and educator. He is the former chairman of the Philosophy Department of Notre Dame University in Cotabato City. He is now teaching in the College of Law. He is presently connected with the BARMM in Cotabato City. He took his masters in philosophy at Ateneo de Davao University. Atty. Matura studied educational leadership in Australia. 

42. Bonifacio Solsoloy is a faculty member at the University of Southern Mindanao. He took his masters at Ateneo de Davao University. He has presented important papers during SES conferences. He teaches logic, ethics and special courses in philosophy at USM, which along with MSU-IIT, opened a new program in philosophy most recently.

Professor Thomas Pogge of Yale University will be the mentor of Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc in the ASAP Global Justice Program Fellowship at Yale University. Christopher Ryan Maboloc: An Intellectual Biography
