Dr. Ian Clark Parcon (full name often listed as Ian Clark R. Parcon) is a Filipino academic and philosopher based in Davao City, Philippines. He serves as an Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department at Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU). He holds a PhD from the Ateneo de Manila University and specializes in areas such as:

Populism and democratic theory

His notable works include publications on topics like "Dutertismo" (analyzing the populism associated with former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and its implications for democratic politics in the Philippines), Jürgen Habermas's deliberative democracy, political realism, and postcolonial studies. 

His articles have appeared in journals such as Budhi: A Journal of Ideas and Culture, Asian Journal of Social Science, Philippine Studies, and others. 

He has delivered papers as a Plenary Speaker in the Union of Societies and Associations of Philosophy in the Philippines (Philippines), the Philosophical Association of the Philippines, and the Social Ethics Society Conference. He also serves as the Chief Editor of the SES Journal of Applied Philosophy since 2022.

He is also active in professional philosophical circles in the Philippines, including roles such as Auditor for the Philosophical Association of the Philippines (PAP). He has delivered plenary lectures (e.g., at Waseda University in Tokyo) and is involved in faculty organizations at ADDU, such as serving as Secretary for the ADDU College Faculty Union.

Context and Culture: Situating Mindanao's Position in the General Education Curriculum
